MI Specialist Supervision
From my own experience of learning MI (which is an on-going process) and from the research evidence-base, I am confident that people learn MI best with supervision, coaching and supportive feedback. We all know that training alone is rarely sufficient to implement new approaches and embed new skills.
That’s why I’m now offering specialist MI supervision for qualified EPs. Would you like to develop your MI practice? Would you like space to reflect, build confidence and refine your MI skills?
In true MI form, MI supervision is a partnership: we can use the time in any way that suits you. That might include:
- Discussing, planning and reflecting on MI casework
- Exploring broader applications of MI (e.g. EP consultation & supervision)
- Linking theory to practice and developing conscious competence in MI
- Using Video Enhanced Reflective Practice (VERP) if you have permission to share and reflect on recordings of your MI practice
- Exploring ethical dilemmas
- Doing skills practice where you act as the client and I can model MI
- Doing skills practice where I’m the client and you can practice MI - then I’ll offer supportive feedback and coaching
- Exploring your MI goals (such as becoming a member of MINT)
- Enjoying interesting chats about anything to do with MI!
